The abbatial blessing of Rt. Rev. Arul Amalraj O.Praem was held on April 22 at St. Norbert Abbey Church with solemnity and reverence. Most Rev. Dr. Valan Arasu, the Bishop of the Jabalpur Catholic Diocese, presided over the blessing ceremony. Joining him as con-celebrants were esteemed figures including Rt. Rev. Dominic Rossi O.Praem, the Abbot of Daylesford Abbey, USA; Rt. Rev. Denis Hendrickx O.Praem, the Abbot of Abbey of Berne, the Netherlands; Most Rev. Rt. Rev. Marcus Champia O.Praem, the Abbot Emeritus of St. Norbert Abbey, India and Most .Rev. Gerald Almeida Bishop Emeritus of Jabalpur.

The presence of Rev. Fr. Jose Murikan, the prelate of Manathavady canonry, and Rev. Fr. Jaison John, the prelate of Verapoly canonry, added to the joyous atmosphere. More than 150 priests and religious members witnessed the blessing ceremony, along with representatives from various parishes, totaling around 400 faithful.

Rt. Rev. Arul Amalraj’s family members and friends from different parts of India also graced the occasion, further enriching the celebration with their presence and prayers. It was indeed a gathering filled with blessings, unity, and support as Rt. Rev. Arul Amalraj embarked on his journey as the new Abbot.
